Documentation Conventions

At a number of places in this manual, you are shown a simulation of your interaction with the computer (dialogue). In order to distinguish computer-supplied prompts from your responses, responses will be in bold type. Like this:

    COMPUTER'S PROMPT: USER'S RESPONSE

The Enter or Return key, the key used to terminate "reads" (i.e., data entry by users) is shown as in these dialogues.

New Options or changes in the documentation based on VA FileMan V. 22.2 are highlighted with the following image:

How To Use the HTML Version of This Manual

This manual is delivered using HTML (Hypertext Markup Language). In order to view it, you need to use a Web browser. The distinguishing characteristic of manuals in this format are the hypertext jumps contained within the text. Clicking on a hypertext jump causes your browser to jump to the location or document described in the jump. Documents can be linked to each other in this way.

This manual is best viewed in a Web browser that supports both frames, such as Netscape Navigator 2.x and higher, and Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.x and higher.

Frames

If the HTML browser you are using supports frames, you will view a framed version of this manual. The manual screen is divided into two frames:
