MSC
FileMan is an extension of VA FileMan,
produced for Medsphere
Systems Corporation by George Timson, who was
the original programmer of VA FileMan.
MSC FileMan includes all of the functionality of VA
FileMan, and is designed to be backwards-compatible
with any database created within VA FileMan.
Indian Health Service (IHS) and DSS mods to VA FileMan are also included here.
MSC FileMan incorporates many bug-fixes to VA FileMan, and adds significant new capabilities, including
an 'internationalized' data dictionary, and a mouse-enabled ScreenMan. The "readme.txt"
file details several other enhancements.

MSC
FileMan 1050/1051 corrects a number of bugs not addressed by VA FileMan,. It also introduces two new enhancements: 1)
Input, Sort and Print Templates can be designated as "CANONIC" for
their files, which means that they will be prompted by the interactive
FileMan dialogues as the default means of editing, sorting, or printing
the entries in those files. 2) IDENTIFIER
Fields can be created as 'display-only', which means that their field
values will NOT be asked at the time a new Entry is being 'LAYGO'ed,
but those values WILL be displayed whenever a lookup is done. Please see the
